Beautiful City, Voices of Music

The Choir of the Municipality of Athens presents the choral music of Mikis Theodorakis. In the early 1980s, specifically in 1982, the composer wrote the Divine Liturgy (Missa Greca), based on a text by St. John Chrysostom for solo voice (Priest) and a cappella mixed choir. Excerpts from this work will be performed in this concert with tenor Yannis Christopoulos in the role of the Priest.

In the second part of the evening, the works "Deserters", "Mauthausen" and "Epiphany" will be performed in a transcription for a cappella choir made by the composer in 1983.
